Back in November, we heard that Radiohead was "fumbling" around the studio via the band's Jonny Greenwood. Apparently the band starts studio sessions without much collective coherence, but according to an interview with the Dutch music website 3voor12, at least one song from the new album isn't very new at all.Greenwood first pointed out that most Radiohead albums have included songs that were first conceived many years prior. He points out "Nude" as an example (it appeared on 2007's In Rainbows but was written in 1997) and then says the band's forthcoming record will include a reworked version of "Lift," a track they performed as early as 1996.
Below is a recoding of "Lift." Radiohead diehards might know it from Towering Above the Rest, an unauthorized rarities compilation that popped up in 2004.
